here is a picture of a Gundam when it 1st hatched.... isn't it cute, A newly hatched gundam have no hands & body, it just have little wings just like a little chick.... but do not be fool by its appearance, it can be deadly with hidden cannons below the small wings...
Then after surviving a though battles, they begun to evolve to the 2nd stage....
In the 2nd stage, They will slowly develop arms which is not too powerful but sufficient to defend & attack...Once the are use to battles they evolved to a final stage, a true Gundam... with full strength arms, jetpacks, real wings, & lots more... behold Gundam....
when a Gundam complete the evolution cycle, it base colour is white & gold.... well all this is just my imagination for the real story about Gundam ask the Japanese... they created it :)
